Hideaway

A tired old apartment in a perfect beachside location needed a total facelift to come into line with what holiday guests expect when staying in a luxury resort. Di Henshall Interior Design set about changing the layout of the kitchen to become a more relaxed, convivial space for casual meal preparation and pre-dinner drinks.

The dining room was enlarged by glazing the entire wall in grey mirror, with a simple shelf at waist height. The effect is amazing. Unassuming, yet elegant and robust, furnishings were included in the petite lounge, incorporating a desk into the television unit, maximising the use of the room.

By building a full length bench seat and boxed out section to house a television in the master bedroom, a cosy element was introduced, enhanced by the application of grass-weave wallpaper and soft lighting. It has transformed the room. The bathrooms were completely gutted and redesigned using state-of-the-art fittings, tiles and cabinetry. A triumph over mediocrity!
