Spanish Mission House
When the owner of this house in Peregian came to us, it was in dire need of help. The building was badly weathered with a drab interior, the timber window frames were badly weathered and it generally looked run down and in need of attention. Di Henshall Interior Design came up with a concept which the client loved – a completely new kitchen designed to suit their lifestyle, renovate the existing bathroom & ensuite, reconfigure the existing layout of the bedrooms – and create a completely new media room / guest bedroom, in the existing double garage space. A new garage was built and the driveway and gardens redesigned.
A beautiful Spanish mission themed coffered ceiling was designed to break up the dull plasterboard ceiling, which spanned from one side of the house to the other. This adds a lot of interest to the ground floor with extra lighting installed to suit. Apart from the master bedroom, the house had 3 other bedrooms which were small and cramped. Di Henshall Interior Design completely removed one of the bedrooms, enabling the remaining two rooms to be extended to become far more spacious. One of the bedrooms now has the space to double as a home office, which is fitted out with a custom-made desk and book cases.
Continuing with the Spanish mission theme, the Kitchen was completely redesigned to opening the area up and provide more generous storage, whilst still being practical and sensibly laid out.
